Machine Maintenance
The machine cleans itself automatically after the use of 2.5 and 11.5 water. Running the 6.0 every morning is recommended and about once a month you should run an E-Cleaning cycle. This is a program in the machine you select and the machine cleans the plates with a Citric Acid Mix that you supply it with through a little tank. Once a year you should send your machine to and Enagic office and they open and clean it manually (Around 100$). These four ways of cleaning the internal world and plates is very unique to Enagic. It is one of the reasons these Machines 20+ years.
Depending how much you use your K8 you will also have to change the filter every 6-24 months. This is an investment under 100$.

Dr. Hiromi Shinya, MD, developed the now standard technique of non-invasive colonoscopic surgery and the polypectomy snare to remove colon polyps in 1969. He has been using ionized water as a therapeutic treatment on his patients since 1985, and has ionizers in his New York office that patients use to fill up gallon jugs of the Kangen Water to take home and drink, though he recommends that they get their own ionizer.
